What did the world sound like before anyone was around to listen? From the nighttime sounds of Houston to the reconstructed songs of Jurassic-era insects, Rabbi Oren Hayon explores a world that was singing long before we arrived. Drawing on Parashat B’reishit and the Book of Job, he offers a reminder: we didn’t make creation good. We joined something that was good already. Rabbi Hayon invites us to turn down the noise of daily life, notice the goodness that doesn’t need to be posted or measured, and rediscover what Shabbat makes room for: stillness, attention, and wonder.
