Careers at Emanu El

We are dedicating time this month to reducing stigma, opening conversations, and reminding every member of our community that no one has to struggle alone.

If you or someone you love is navigating a mental health challenge, know that help is available and that reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. You can reach out to a member of our clergy team or to Anna or Adele with The Shalva Project.

Emanu El Cares… and Volunteers!

Emanu El Houston has a long, rich history of volunteer work in the Houston community. We believe that volunteering is how we live our values — through tikkun olam, repairing the world, and strengthening our community one mitzvah at a time. Each of us can have a significant impact far beyond the walls of our synagogue.

Summer Opportunities:
Sunday, June 7: Second Servings
Sunday, June 14: COR Houston
Wednesday, June 24: Kids’ Meals
Sunday, June 28:
👉 Houston Food Bank
👉 Feeding the Lone Star

The Gathering Place is also in need of volunteers a few hours each month. This year-round program provides a warm, welcoming space for individuals living with early to moderate Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory loss to enjoy music, conversation, laughter, and connection in an environment where they feel safe and at ease. At the same time, family caregivers receive three invaluable hours of respite and support. 👉 More information
