Join Sisterhood at Stages Theater to see Roe, an incisive play by playwright Lisa Loomer that cuts through the pithy headlines and explosive rhetoric to illuminate the human stories behind Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that legalized abortion. Roe reveals the divergent private journeys of two Texas natives in the years following the court’s monumental ruling: attorney Sarah Weddington, who argued the case at the Supreme Court and plaintiff Norma McCorvey (“Jane Roe”).
