Emanu Elders

1st Tuesday of the month
11:30 am

Emanu Elders is our congregation's group of retirement age seniors. Sponsored by the Sisterhood, Emanu Elders have been meeting once a month for lunch and a program on the first Tuesday of the month for about 30 years. It is likely the longest running program at Congregation Emanu El – aside from services, of course!

You don't have to be ancient to be an 'elder' – just interested in the programming, the food or the guests – or any combination.
Won't you join us?

Sack Lunches for SEARCH

4th Tuesday of the month
9:30 am

The community is invited to join the Sisterhood of Emanu El for an ongoing social action project – Sack Lunches for SEARCH.

SEARCH Homeless Services works to engage, stabilize, educate, employ and house individuals and families who are homeless. Their essential services are highly effective in transforming lives because they meet individuals where they are and provide what they need to get off the streets and back on their feet.

Emanu El has a long history of supporting SEARCH’s endeavor and assembles sack lunches for the organization once a month. For more information or to get involved, contact Sandy Harris at sdharr@comcast.net

Work of Our Hands

2nd Thursday of the month
10:00 am

Gather with women who enjoy companionship while knitting and/or crocheting shawls, bonnets, booties, lap blankets etc. for patients in the Texas Medical Center. The beauty of this mitzvah covers neo-natal infants to patients at MD Anderson.

If you don't know how to knit but want to learn, let us know. We'll be happy to teach you.
