July 4th Celebration

Thursday, July 4, 2019 1 Tammuz 5779

7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Come celebrate America’s independence as a community. All guests are asked to park in the Gaylor Parking Facility and enter the Emanu El property through Gate 1 (closest to Main Street). The west surface lot will be closed.

The event will feature activities throughout the evening, including a free dinner with hamburgers and hot dogs, courtesy of Evelyn & Franklin Roth and Michelle & Barry Glauben. Vegetarian options will also be available, in addition to popcorn, ice cream and more!

New to the lineup this year is an adult trivia night beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Oshman Multi-Purpose Room. For the kids, a kid-friendly movie will be available in the Proler Chapel in addition to arts and crafts from PJ Library.

We’ll head to the top level of the Gaylor Parking Facility shortly after 9:00 p.m. for a patriotic sing-along led by Cantor Simmons before the main event: FIREWORKS! Together, we’ll view the fantastic display from downtown before enjoying the Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute from Hermann Park’s Miller Outdoor Theatre!

To help us prepare for the evening so we can get a proper head count for food purposes, please register online at emanuelhouston.org. Those interested in volunteering and helping prepare the food for the evening, please contact Jason Plotkin at jasonp@emanuelhouston.org or 713.535.6414.

Special thanks to our event chairs Erica & George Hittner.
