Open House & Meet-the-Teacher Event
All current and prospective Helfman Religious School students are invited to an Open House and Meet-the-Teacher event! Come celebrate our return to in-person classes; find out about our updated programming and protocols; and meet our teachers, staff and TAs!
Consecration Family Education
To celebrate the beginning of their religious education at Congregation Emanu El, kindergarten students and new students in 1st-3rd graders will participate in a special Consecration ceremony during Erev Simchat Torah services on Monday evening, September 27.
To prepare for this special event, students and their families are invited to attend a Family Education Program on Sunday, August 29. [This program will take the place of Open House for these students.] During this program, students will decorate covers for the little Torahs they will receive at Consecration, take individual and (optional) family photos for the composite photo to be displayed in the Newar / Lipper Consecration & Confirmation Photo Gallery and record music videos to be compiled and presented during the service. Please be on the lookout for more detailed information to be sent via email. Students must be enrolled in Helfman Religious School or a Jewish day school to participate in Consecration.
