Join the Sisterhood as author Patt Lorraine Simons reflects on her book, Brothers on the Run: Fleeing Hitler, Fighting Franco.

Based on her father’s and uncle’s experiences, Simons takes us on two brothers’ high-velocity ride across pre-WW II Europe, one step ahead of Hitler’s armies. The brothers’ exploits are humorous, heart-wrenching, life-affirming, and ultimately lead them to successfully immigrate to the United States, where they settle in El Paso, Texas. Simons carefully and lovingly tells the exploits of her father, Freddy (Gottfried) Kahn, and her uncle, Rudy (Rudolph) Kahn, in this beautifully-written memoir.

Book reviews are open to the public and are free of charge. Guests are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Desserts will be served.
