9:45 AM - 2:30 PMUniversity of Houston

Please join Sisterhood for an exciting day on a Houston Art Safari. We ask that you arrive at Emanu El by 9:45 a.m., as the bus will leave the synagogue promptly at 10:00 a.m. to begin exploring the creative and engaging art hiding and waiting to be seen in various interesting locations of H-Town.

The safari will continue for a guided tour to view the wonderful art at the University of Houston Campus, where they are celebrating 50 years of the Public Art Project with 700 pieces of art throughout their five campuses.

The bus tour will include several points of interest: Sesquicentennial Park to view the 7 Pillars of Wisdom/Big Bubble in the Bayou/Traditional Sculptures; David Adickes Storage Studio; University of Houston Public Art on campus and a tour with a docent of The Blaffer Gallery.

The tour will include lunch and a schmooze at McAllister’s Deli on the campus, along with a visit to Smither’s Park on our return trip. We anticipate the bus to return to Emanu El by 2:30 p.m.

Get your cameras ready, and please join us to enjoy this great event!
