We just keep getting busier, but it*s all good!
February 6 found every grade in special programs:
Rabbi Fishman’s 8th grade met with a Planned Parenthood educator to discuss “Healthy Sexuality;” Lisa Stone visited afterwards to present Jewish views.
Ms. Bernstein’s and Ms. Danziger’s 8th grades met with a Crisis Intervention Houston educator for the “suicide prevention” workshop. Lisa Stone also visited with them afterwards to discuss relevant Jewish views.
The 9th grade met with an ADL educator for the “Standing Up to Anti-Semitism” workshop, with one of our 12th graders as a guest speaker.
Ms. Selzer’s 10th grade met with Rabbi Walter to explore Jewish perspectives on theology. (The other 10th grade will meet with him later in the term!)
The 11th and 12th grades met with Houston legislator Ellen Cohen, to learn from her how politics and good citizenship interact.
And that’s just one week…
The following week, Ms. Baskin’s 9th grade met with Rabbi Walter to discuss Jewish views of sexuality.
To finish the month, February 27th, the entire school is scheduled to hear from Rabbi Singer about missionary work that targets Jews, particularly young Jews.
Report cards for the 1st semester for 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades will be mailed in February. Please make sure students are responsible for any make-up work they need to do, to remain a “student in good standing!”
