Multipurpose Roommulti-purpose-3

The stained glass windows in this room were crafted in 1998 by stained glass artist Kim Clark Renteria based on the theme of the Jewish Holidays. The inscription in Hebrew is L’Chayim – To Life. Divided into four sections, the top left is Passover – the parting of the Red Sea. The bottom left is the Ten Commandments. On the top right is Sukkot and the bottom right is the Chanukah Menorah. The circles were the actual plates used for the holidays.

Stillman-Lack Memorial Library

The written word is the foundation of the Jewish experience. Our library has a collection of books for all ages and is set aside for study, research and pleasure reading about the Jewish experience, our history, our people and our literature.

In addition to the books, we have an extensive collection of music, records and tapes which increase the scope and deepen the religious dimension of Emanu El.

The Confirmation/Consecration Wall

Each year at Confirmation (when students finish 10th grade in religious school) and at Consecration (when students enter religious school for the first time; usually kindergarten), a class picture is taken. The pictures are a permanent memento in our office hallway. The children in the Consecration pictures on the bottom row are frequently some of the same children in the Confirmation pictures on the top row.
